EXCHANGE PROGRAMME: SEGOVIA – LUDWISBURG > JUNE 2022

So our time finally came! 16 of our students at IES Francisco Giner de los Ríos along with two teachers, arrived in Ludwigsburg on the 21st of June in the afternoon, after a seemingly endless trip (since the 1st flight was delayed, the 2nd cancelled and we were relocated in a train to take us from Frankfurt to our destination). Anyway, no bad news were to be accepted as the moment our students saw their German counterparts all faces were showing huge smiles.

Similarly to what the students and teachers from the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Ludwigsburg did here, we spent there a whole week full of enriching activities, ranging from cultural workshops such as the cooking of Maultasche and other local delicatessen, to adventure activities like zip lines in the woods. But let me write a bit about about it:

We started off with an official welcome from the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium, followed by another one made by the City Council. We also did different activities around the area (as one can see in the first photo, where we visited the Palace and some other important buildings in Ludwigsburg).

What is more, we went to a wonderful park although the rain that day almost made us not enjoy a barbecue-picnic prepared by the students! However, our students showed their real cooking skills by learning how to prepare lunch for all of us other day (it was delicious!).

As mentioned before, we participated in other workshops such as the artistic one, creating creative postcards with the most emblematic buildings of the place.

We moved around too! And we got to visit the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, something not only connected to engines but also with History! (as we could learn about the evolution of the brand alongside the History of mankind).

It was great to enjoy the urban life there but also the parts connected to nature thanks to the multi adventure activity which took place in a forest. That same day, we ended up having a party organised by the German students, it was awesome!

Finally, the day before our departure, we visited Tübingen (like they visited Salamanca), which is a very beautiful, famous and important city for university students. There we enjoyed a boat ride along the river with stunning views.

Again, the same as when they came here, the conclusion is simple: Thanks to this exchange programme all the participants have benefitted and improved language skills and also they have reinforced the bonding relationship created.
